Dan Harris's Will Found by the Author Whatcom County Superior Court File No. 152, November 2008 Verbatim Transcription The last will and testament of Daniel J. Harris &c.
I, Daniel Jefferson Harris considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory (blest be Almitty God for the same) do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say) First I give and bequeath unto my nephew, Benjamin Franklin Harris, son of my brother, Benjamin Franklin Harris, all my real estate (described as follows) all my Donation Claim acording to certificate No. 420 Lots, 3. 4. 5. & 6 of Section No. 2. and Lots No. 3 & N.W. 1/4 of N.W. 1/4 of section No. 12 in Township No. 37 North of Range No. 2 East containing 146.40/100 acres lying in the County of Whatcom Territory of Washington also all that certain lot or tract of land situated lying and being in Whatcom County and Territory of Washington more particularly known and described on the plats of the Governments Lands as lot one (1) of section No. (2) Two in Township No thirty seven (37) North and range no (2) East containing forty three acres This I bequeath and assign forever unto said nephew and I do hereby appoint my brother Goerge Harris or and his mother Feby Harris or commit the guardiansiip of my nephew until he shall respectfully attain the age of twenty one years thereby revoking all former wills by me made.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 6th. day of April in the year of out Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy one. Daniel J.Harris Seal The above instrument consisting of one sheet was now here subscribed by Daniel J. Harris the testator in presence of each of us and was at the same time declared by him to be his last will and testament and we at his request signed our names thereto as attesting witnesses. H.
